Build Your Future in Canada Through Caregiving
Your Experience Matters. Your Future Matters.
Caregivers play an important role in Canadian families and communities.
For individuals with experience in childcare, home support or related caregiving fields, Canada has introduced immigration pathways designed to help qualified caregivers build a future in Canada.
At HM Group, we help caregivers understand Canada's immigration options and determine which pathway may be appropriate for their individual circumstances.
Immigration programs for caregivers can change, and application intake may be limited or temporarily closed. That's why having professional guidance is important before making decisions about your Canadian immigration plans.

What Is Caregiver Immigration?
Canada has developed immigration programs and pathways for individuals who provide care to children, seniors and people who require support in their homes.
The current federal caregiver framework includes the Home Care Worker Immigration Pilots, which were created for skilled workers interested in home child care and home support occupations.
These pathways were designed to provide eligible caregivers with a route toward Canadian permanent residence.
However, caregiver immigration is not a single program that applies to everyone. Your options can depend on your work experience, education, language ability, employment situation, immigration status and other personal circumstances.
Not Sure Which Caregiver Pathway Applies to You?
You don't need to figure it out alone. HM Group can review your situation and explain your potential options.
Book A ConsultationA Pathway for Home Child Care & Home Support Workers
The Home Care Worker Immigration Pilots were introduced to create permanent residence pathways for eligible workers in two areas:
Home Child Care
For individuals providing care and support to children in a home-care setting.
Home Support
For individuals providing care and support to people who require assistance in their homes.
The pilots were designed to connect qualified caregivers with employment opportunities and a pathway toward permanent residence.
Important Current Status Notice:
At present, the pilots are closed to new applications while IRCC focuses on processing existing applications. IRCC has stated that intake was paused and would not reopen in March 2026.
What Does This Mean for You?
If you are interested in caregiver immigration, it is important to understand the current status of the program rather than relying on older information found online. Future immigration opportunities and program changes may create new options.
HM Group can help you understand what is currently available and what you should consider for your future.
Caregivers Who Want to Build a Life in Canada
More Than a Job — A Future
Many caregivers come to Canada because they want more than employment. They want to build a career, support their families and create a stable future in Canada.
Caregiver immigration pathways have been designed with this long-term goal in mind. If you have experience working with children, seniors or individuals requiring home support, your background may be relevant to Canadian immigration opportunities.
However, having caregiver experience does not automatically mean that you qualify for a particular immigration program.
Your Individual Profile Matters
At HM Group, we look at your circumstances as a whole. We can help you understand how your:
Caregiving experience
Education
Language ability
Employment history
Current immigration status
Family circumstances
Long-term goals
may affect your immigration options.

Book A ConsultationYour Canadian Journey Can Start From Home (Outside Canada)
If you are currently living outside Canada and have caregiving experience, you may be interested in opportunities to work and eventually establish yourself in Canada.
Canadian immigration pathways for caregivers have evolved over the years, and program availability can change.
The current Home Care Worker Immigration Pilots are closed to new applications, so candidates should be cautious about anyone promising immediate access to this program.
Instead, the best first step is to understand your overall immigration profile and explore what options may be available now or in the future.

Book A ConsultationUnderstanding the Changes
You may have heard about Canada's Home Child Care Provider Pilot or Home Support Worker Pilot. These were previous caregiver immigration programs that provided pathways toward permanent residence.
They are now closed to new applications. IRCC confirms that the last day to apply under these pilots was June 17, 2024, although applications submitted before the closure continue to be processed.
Because caregiver immigration has changed significantly over the years, information found on older websites or social media may no longer apply.

We don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. We look at your situation, your goals and the immigration pathways that may be relevant to you.
You may already have years of caregiving experience. You may currently be working in Canada. You may be an international caregiver hoping to come to Canada. Or you may have previously looked into a caregiver program and are unsure what has changed.
Whatever your situation, the first step is understanding where you stand today. Canadian immigration programs can open, close or change. That means the pathway that was available yesterday may not be the pathway available today.
